Onigirazu (Rice Sandwich)

“Onigirazu is essentially a sushi sandwich wrapped in nori, filled with sushi rice sandwiching various other fillings, and wrapped tightly into a rectangular patty. This is a fantastic meal to prep for lunches or sushi nights, or you can set up a sushi bar and invite your family or friends over to make their own!” – Michelle Cehn


Ingredients

  • 1 (8oz) package Hodo Miso Tofu Locate Product

  • nori seaweed sheets (sushi size)

  • sushi rice

Optional Add-ins

  • spicy mayo sauce

  • shredded purple cabbage

  • chickpea tuna

  • avocado

Instructions

  1. Place a piece of cling wrap on top of a cutting board.

  2. Take one nori sheet and place it diagonally on top of the cling wrap.

  3. Spread an even layer of sushi rice at the center of the nori sheet.

  4. Cut the Hodo Miso Tofu into ½-inch slices.

  5. Add Hodo Miso Tofu slices on top of the rice and any other fillings you desire, such as spicy mayo sauce, shredded purple cabbage, and/ or avocado.

  6. Add a second even layer of sushi rice on top of the filling.

  7. Fold the corners of the nori sheet over the filling and wrap tightly with the cling wrap.

  8. Cut the onigirazu in half.

  9. Repeat the process for as many onigirazu’s as you need and enjoy!
