Dear Friends of Hodo,
We hope this email finds you well. Our thoughts are with the many individuals, families and communities who are impacted by COVID-19. These are uncertain times, and we wanted to let you know that we are working hard to get you the plant-based, nutrient-dense foods that you want, where and when you want it.
We’ve always held the highest standards of safety, cleanliness and food quality at Hodo. Several weeks ago, we created a COVID-19 Task Team to monitor and react to the sometimes daily changes and guidance from county health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Supplementing our usual standard procedures, we have implemented additional safety precautions in our Oakland factory (the “beanery”) and workplace. Without going into too much detail (but please reach out if you would like to learn more), every single role on our team has been re-organized to optimize social distancing, sanitation standards and work-from-home.

We keenly recognize the need for nutritious foods particularly as many of us are trying to keep healthy. And while we realize that the grocery shelves are not always as well-stocked as usual, please know that we are working with our partners to keep the Hodo supply chain as full as possible.

For our Bay Area customers, our booth at the San Francisco Farmers Market remains open on Saturdays, in support of our loyal market customers and local farmers. Enhanced safety procedures are also in place at our market booth to protect both you and our farmers market team.
Nutritious & Versatile - Home Cooking Can Be The Greatest Therapy
While shelter-in-place and working at home can be stressful, cooking can be a great therapy for some (to paraphrase a 1975 New York Times article). To this end, Hodo foods are versatile and go great with salads, rice bowls, soups and more. You can find health-boosting spices like turmeric, ginger and cayenne in many of our products, and we are committed as ever to making the most delicious plant protein foods out there.
